Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced roofer to join our skilled team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of roofing systems, materials, and safety practices. This position involves performing various roofing tasks, including installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs, while ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain various roofing systems, including shingles, tiles, metal, and flat roofing.
- Assess roof conditions and perform necessary repairs to ensure structural integrity.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Assist in the training of less experienced roofers and apprentices.
- Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specific dimensions.
- Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain inventory of materials and tools, reporting any shortages to management.
- Travel to job sites as required.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in roofing or a related field.
- Knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in roofing or relevant safety training (e.g., OSHA).
Experience with specialized roofing systems (e.g., green roofs, solar roofing).
2-3 Years installation experience including shingles, tiles, metal, and flat roofing.
