Purchasing Specialist

ABC Technologies’ core business as an Automotive Tier 1 supplier is in the Design, Development and Production of plastic automotive systems and components for OEMs worldwide.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have an opening for Purchasing Specialist at our ABC Leitchfield Facility. The Purchasing Specialist is a key role in our automotive manufacturing facility, responsible for overseeing the efficient flow of materials throughout the production process. This position involves coordinating with various departments, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet production demands.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Meet the expectations and standards set forth by IATF16945 and ISO14001.
• Monitor and maintain optimal levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms and resolve any issues.
• Generate purchase orders based on production requirements and inventory levels.
• Verify order accuracy, pricing, and terms before processing and submitting to suppliers.
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock.
• Collaborate with the production and planning teams to align purchasing activities with production schedules.
• Address any material shortages or issues that may impact the production process.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all purchasing transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
• Update and manage the supplier database with relevant information.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials meet established standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to facilitate the movement of materials within the facility.
• Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
• Provide relevant information to management for strategic decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in material handling, storage, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years related experience in manufacturing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task
• Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite especially Microsoft Excel
• IQMS experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
