Role Description
As the Application Development Manager, you will design, implement, and support both vendor-packaged and custom solutions that enhance the core banking platform and other enterprise applications. In this role, you will lead a team of core developers while collaborating with business units to deliver innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a core development team across scrum teams and business lines, fostering a supportive, collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and innovation.
Partner with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) on team delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Drive the implementation of software development best practices, including design patterns, code reviews, and compliance standards.
Collaborate with external vendors on integrated solutions while staying current with strategic roadmaps.
Oversee the design, development, and delivery of business solutions that optimize operational efficiency through technology.
Required Qualifications:
6 years of experience with financial institution technologies, such as Jack Henry, Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU, MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, or OpCon.
Proven experience in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
Strong leadership and people management experience, with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring.
Experience influencing executive leadership.
Solid understanding of agile and iterative project management methodologies.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
Hands-on experience with Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen development.
Knowledge of IBM's AIX operating system.
SQL, HTML, and JavaScript development experience.
ITIL framework knowledge and experience.
