What You’ll Do:
As the Director of Operations, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing leadership and guidance to the Project Management team. Your role will involve overseeing project execution, fostering strong relationships, and continuously improving company processes to ensure we deliver outstanding results for our clients. Here’s a peek at what your day-to-day will look like:
- Project Management Leadership: You’ll guide our Project Managers, engineers, and superintendents, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of projects. You’ll oversee all project activities and help streamline communication across departments.
- Team Development: You’ll help our team grow by mentoring, providing advice, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Your guidance will ensure our team is always working towards becoming better.
- Cross-department Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Design, Pre-Construction, Safety, Accounting, and more to ensure seamless operations and a unified approach to project delivery.
- Client Relationships: Serve as a key point of contact for owners, helping to manage expectations and relationships with clients and third parties.
- Safety and Compliance: Coordinate with the Safety Department to maintain our commitment to a culture of safety at every project site.
- Business Development: Actively pursue new opportunities and strengthen our relationships with current clients.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee project management operations and ensure all activities align with corporate goals.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to our team, assisting with everything from contract negotiations to project scope reviews.
- Continuously evaluate and improve company processes to ensure we maintain a best-in-class status.
- Support the Safety Department in fostering a safe work environment for all.
- Actively participate in pre-construction activities, such as developing bids and attending pre-bid meetings.
- Assist with marketing efforts by helping to respond to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Review project progress through site visits and regular meetings to ensure everything stays on track.
- Foster strong relationships with team members, owners, consultants, and subcontractors, and work to resolve any issues that arise.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 10 years of experience in construction management with leadership roles.
- A strong understanding of project management, from contracts and estimates to scheduling and budgeting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team while managing key relationships.
- A solid track record of overseeing projects successfully from start to finish.
- An ability to identify areas for improvement and lead the charge in creating positive change.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in construction.
- Experience using project management software like HH2, Autodesk Build, and Microsoft Project is a plus.
