Abel Personnel is hiring on behalf of a client known for driving cloud transformation and technological innovation. We’re seeking an AWS Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to take a lead role in transitioning critical systems from legacy mainframes to advanced cloud infrastructure. This is a key position for a skilled professional eager to shape secure, efficient cloud environments in AWS.
Role Overview
As the AWS Senior SRE, you will oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure, design robust IaC solutions, and ensure compliance with security frameworks. This position combines expertise in AWS architecture, DevOps practices, and site reliability to support mission-critical applications and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and Implement Cloud Solutions: Direct AWS GovCloud architecture, setting standards and practices aligned with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP compliance.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead the design and deployment of IaC using Terraform and Ansible to automate and streamline infrastructure.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high availability and rapid deployment.
- AWS Environment Optimization: Utilize tools like OpenShift, Kafka, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MuleSoft to build and maintain secure, scalable cloud solutions.
- Security and Performance Management: Establish secure VPCs, monitor infrastructure health, and ensure regulatory compliance in a multi-account AWS environment.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 10-15 years in infrastructure support or engineering roles
- 5 years in cloud architecture, with extensive experience in AWS configuration and management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Technical Expertise:
- AWS Tools: Deep familiarity with Redshift, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPCs.
- Automation and Scripting: Advanced skills in Ansible, Python, and Bash for task automation.
- DevOps and CI/CD: Proven experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jenkins and GitLab for continuous integration and delivery.
- Required Certifications:
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Solutions Architect – Associate & Professional
- AWS Developer – Associate
Preferred Skills
- Additional AWS Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Monitoring and Optimization Tools: Experience with New Relic, ELK Stack, and Splunk for system health and performance monitoring.
