AbelCine, a leading equipment and technology provider for the broadcast, production, and new media industries, is offering a temp-to-perm opportunity within our Production Services division. We are seeking a skilled Media Manager to oversee the ingestion, organization, and management of video files and digital assets within our clients Media Asset Management (MAM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems. Key responsibilities include creating same-day review files, generating transcripts, and occasionally serving as the onsite Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) for events.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, a strong understanding of media formats, storage protocols, and workflow optimization. In this role, you will collaborate closely with production, post-production, and IT teams to streamline workflows and ensure seamless asset storage and retrieval. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented media professional with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite who excels at optimizing workflows and maintaining efficient digital asset management within MAM / DAM systems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Ingest and organize video files in MAM / DAM systems, ensuring proper formatting and metadata tagging.
  • Prepare same-day review files and coordinate file transfers with external vendors.
  • Develop workflows for asset ingestion, transcoding, and distribution.
  • Collaborate with production and post-production teams to improve efficiency.
  • Utilize Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder for basic editing and file troubleshooting.
  • Assist with exporting and organizing project files for MAM storage.
  • Generate transcripts and ensure timely access within MAM / DAM systems.
  • Create same-day review files for production teams.
  • Perform quality checks on media files and resolve technical issues related to ingestion or playback.
  • Manage storage solutions, implement data retention protocols, and ensure compliance with DRM standards.
  • Act as an onsite DIT for events, handling real-time media ingestion and organization.
  • Maintain MAM / DAM systems, train team members on best practices, and stay updated on software enhancements.

Requirements for a successful candidate :

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Film, Communications, or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in media asset management, including MAM / DAM systems like CatDV, Dalet, or Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder.
  • Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, resolutions, transcoding processes, and backup protocols.
  • Ability to produce and manage same-day review files and transcripts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and efficient time management skills.
  • Clear and effective communicator with strong written and collaboration abilities.
  • Impeccable organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work late hours.

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with DIT workflows and onsite media management for live events.
  • Familiarity with MAM / DAM automation tools and file transfer protocols (e.g., Telestream Vantage, Signiant).
  • Knowledge of digital rights management (DRM) and copyright standards for video content.

    • Physical Effort :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer.
  • Dexterity for using design tools and equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fonts, and images.
  • Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of light equipment (e.g., printers, monitors).
  • Standing or walking for short periods, such as during meetings or presentations.

    • We are offering a temp-to-perm position with an estimated temporary period of approximately 3 months. This is a great opportunity to transition into a long-term role while showcasing your expertise.

  • Schedule : Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
  • Location : New York, NY
  • Compensation : $2,300 - $2,400 per week, based on experience.
