About the Role:
As Design Lead you are seen as an expert in the business, managing and overseeing the design team to create impactful, user-centred digital products for Financial Advice firms. Working for the Head of Design and Analysis (HoDA) you will collaborate to define team roles/structure and create design processes from discovery to final design. You will be actively involved in hiring and recruitment of the team.
This new role allows you to shape the new design function alongside the leaders within the Product and Technology team.
Your responsibilities include collaborating with Product, Engineering and Business stakeholders designing products and client/user experiences, which places the needs and understanding of clients at the heart of everything we do making Aberdeen the best partner for Financial Advisers through seamless self-serve processes
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the HoDA and cross-functionally to establish a continuous design process that forms part of the product operating model ensuring it puts our clients/users at the heart of everything we do and incorporates user testing, feedback, and analytics.
Create and uphold design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Define user personas, user research and a A/B testing framework
Responsible for creating a design system including site maps, high level navigation and information architecture ensuring quality and consistency across all products, accessibility and brand consistency.
Represent and advocate for the Design team at all levels of the business and maintain strong internal and external stakeholders.
Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a design team, fostering continuous growth, career advancement and open feedback culture.
Define the teams’ objectives aligning them with the wider Design and Analysis and Product and Technology team goals.
Champion the sharing of knowledge and best practices that encourages innovation, accountability, and openness enabling the team to stay competitive and adaptive to user and market needs.
About You:
Experience leading and guiding a design team in product-driven environments, fostering talent and building high-performing teams.
Experience in B2B, Wealth and Fintech experience desirable.
Expert in leading end-to-end design processes ensuring consistency and quality. This includes, UX, UI, Prototyping, Design principles and problem solving.
Passionate about integrating user research and feedback into the design process.
Experience of working in Product Operating Models, partnering closely with Product, Engineering and Data teams to embed design into the product lifecycle; and acts an advocate with stakeholders across Aberdeen.
