Golf Course Equipment Shop Technician

Aberdeen Golf & Country Club, a distinguished private club located in Boynton Beach in the heart of Palm Beach County, Florida is seeking a Golf Course Equipment Shop Technician to assist in the daily routine maintenance on all golf course equipment, including mowers and other specialized turf management machinery.

Overview

The Shop Technician reports to the Golf Course Maintenance Equipment Manager and the Director of Agronomy and will conduct routine daily maintenance of golf course equipment, assisting in diagnosing and repairing issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Under the direction of the GCM Equipment Manager, the shop technician will repair mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment.

· Grind and sharpen reels and adjust cutting units to ensure proper height of cut on all mowing equipment.

· Assists in prioritizing equipment repair and maintenance work.

· Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.

Employment Standards

· Working knowledge of small engine maintenance and repairs

· Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of mechanical repair.

· Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.

· Ability to move heavy objects.

· Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.

· Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work.

· Ability to communicate effectively with the GCM Equipment Manager and Director of Agronomy.

· Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.

· Possession of a valid driver's license

Qualifications Include:

• Prior experience preferred
• Mechanical certifications preferred
• Exemplify strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Possess a positive attitude and be willing to work as part of a team
• Willing to work partial weekends
