What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Graphics Assistant position at Aberdeen IronBirds?
The Aberdeen IronBirds are the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles owned by Attain Sports, operating in founders Bill Ripken and Cal Ripken, Jr.'s home town. The IronBirds are excited to offer career opportunities for new or experienced sports professionals.
The IronBirds seek a seasonal Graphics Assistant for all IronBirds home games for the upcoming season and occasional non-baseball events. The Graphics Assistant will produce and manage content for consumption by IronBirds fans attending games at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, watching the IronBirds’ MiLB.tv stream, and viewing the IronBirds’ social media channels throughout the season, and will have a chance to learn and grow within a well-respected minor league sports environment on their way to a career in graphic design, sports entertainment, production, or all of the above. This role reports to Director of Creative Services; the role is needed for the 66 home games from April through September and occasional non-baseball events, subject to need and candidate availability. Responsibilities for the rule include but are not limited to:
- Produce graphics at the direction of the Creative Services Director for in-house production to be displayed on Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium’s 1500 square foot HD video board and MiLB.tv stream
- Operate in-stadium video graphics equipment, including but not limited to graphics PC station and sports bug
- Communicate with technical director during live events
- Creating/updating in-game graphics including but not limited to sports bug, fan contests, in-game adjustments as needed
- Assist Creative Services Director and other staff to set up, use, and strike any gameday equipment as needed
- Occasional opportunities for operating gameday production equipment including but not limited to TV production switcher, videoboard controller, social media streaming and audio equipment
- Occasional opportunities to work non-game day events for in-house production including but not limited to video, audio, camera, and social media streaming operation
A successful candidate for the role will:
- Have 1 year min of Adobe CC Suite software or equivalent software experience preferred
- Have 1-2 years experience / training with various video production experience preferred
- RenewedVision Propresenter software experience a plus
- Knowledge of baseball and rules preferred
- Work as many of the IronBirds’ 66 home games as possible (school schedule permitting) beginning in April and ending in September (Time can extend based on Playoffs)
- Gladly accept any assignment offered to them to gain experience in every aspect of the business of minor league sports.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Frequently walk or stand for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in high or low temperature environments.
- Training will be available
