Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both residential and industrial painting, with the ability to lead projects from start to finish. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate painting projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Utilize knowledge of color theory to assist clients in selecting appropriate colors and finishes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; perform basic repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on remodeling or renovation projects to achieve desired results.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Train and mentor junior painters on best practices in painting techniques and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial painting, residential painting, or related fields.
- Proficiency with power tools and hand tools commonly used in painting and remodeling tasks.
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to paint coverage.
- Familiarity with trim carpentry is a plus; ability to perform minor carpentry tasks is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
