Substitute placement is an on-call, as needed basis as directed by the daily needs of Aberdeen School District. There is no guarantee of placement on any given day and no ongoing expectation of placement.

Position Summary :
Under the direction and supervision of the building principal or the classroom teacher, this position may provide assistance to students and / or staff. A substitute paraeducator may also perform a variety of office tasks in support of teachers and other district staff. The position is expected to promote positive public relations for the district.
PRIMARY DUTIES :
- Provide assistance to the teacher in the classroom as directed. May include hallway, lunchroom and playground supervision.
- Ability to relate and work with children.
- Work cooperatively with building staff, students, and parents / guardians.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to use a computer and apply technology skills.
- Ability to follow directions, and perform duties and tasks as assigned.
- May be required to assist with toileting and diapering.
- Ability to lift and support students.
- Ability to organize time and maintain a schedule.
- Comply with all district policies, building procedures and schedules.
- Possess a positive attitude that each student can learn and has the right and capacity to achieve personal academic excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator.
