Position Overview
The Homebound Teacher provides individualized instruction and services to children with disabilities who are enrolled in Early Intervention Programs and / or unable to attend school due to medical, developmental, or other qualifying reasons. This role focuses on fostering academic, social, and developmental growth in a home or alternative setting, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Support
- Deliver one-on-one or small-group instruction based on IEP goals and state standards.
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to the child's developmental and educational needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the student's abilities and home environment.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
