What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Layer position at Abernethy Contracting?
Abernethy Contracting is seeking an experienced Pipe Layer. In this role, Pipe Layer will lay storm, water, and sewer pipe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set pipe laser and maintain grade.
- Comply with all company and site-specific policies and procedures.
- Work in unison with lead operator and communicate needs clearly.
- Maintain equipment in good operating condition and reporting of maintenance requirements.
- May perform other job site duties as required based on job site needs.
- Respect and follow leadership and directions from assigned foreman.
- Treat co-workers, subcontractors and customers with respect and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience laying pipe.
- Competency in setting pipe laser and maintaining grade.
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of greater Charlotte Metro Area.
- Must pass a pre-employment background screening.
