Position Title:

Nurse Injector

Lead Prescriber

General Description

The nurse will be onsite for 2 hours per week administering long acting injectables to clients that are prescribed these medications.

Tasks & Responsibilities

A. Essential Duties

Review client’s chart prior to administering of the medication
Use proper sterile technique for injections
Reviewing most recent urine drug test for those receiving Medication Assisted Treatment
Obtain vital signs
Monitor client briefly after the injection
Document the procedure in the client’s electronic medical record
Coordination of care with medication prescribers and other team members

Work may be stressful at times due to high level workflow.

Participates in educational training, orientations, or compliance programs as needed to maintain competency.
