Abilene Childcare Learning Center is an early childhood program. We are looking for highly dedicated and enthusiastic early childhood teachers.
This position is working as a floater during the week (M-F) and entails working in between the hours of 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. assisting a teacher or working in a classroom independently if all teaching requirements have been met. We will train the right candidates, and future promotions are always available.
This center provides early childhood care and education programs for children of:
- Early Head Start Students
- Head Start Students
- Staff Children
- Community Families
ACLC is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and can serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years full day, Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
The person in this key position will help facilitate care and curriculum in infant/toddler and preschool classrooms for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. Applicant must be dependable and dedicated, have a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, and have the ability to relate to and communicate well with parents and staff.
This position requires teaching skills in all areas and have the capability to lead activities for children. You must possess a love for teaching and creativity.
You must ensure a clean, safe environment for all children in attendance.
You must communicate with Head Start staff, support staff, parents, program directors and administrator regarding issues that concern students.
This position requires substantial contact with children, parents, and other staff in order to facilitate a safe, educational, and stimulating environment.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Within 30 Days of hire all teachers must meet licensing requirements, complete 16 hours of required annual trainings, and have current certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass KBI/fingerprinting and national background checks, pre-employment physical, and TB skin test
-Have a GED or high school diploma
-The higher end of the pay range will be for those who have a CDA credential or early childhood education degree.
- 18 years or older
- Prefer some early childhood education college hours
- Ability to lift/move items up to 40 pounds unassisted on a repetitive basis
