- Lead faculty and staff through the proposal development process from ideation to submission, including letters of inquiry, concept papers, white papers, and full grant proposals.
- Validate proposal submissions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines.
- Develop proposal templates, checklists, and timelines and collaborate with faculty to adhere to proposal deadlines.
- Conduct funding opportunity searches and assist faculty and staff in identifying relevant
- Develop budget models that align with project requirements and funding agency regulations.
- Conduct strategic reviews of rejected proposals to strengthen grant applications and implement solutions for resubmissions.
- Provide workshops and outreach on grant processes, agency requirements, and funding resources.
- Catalyze and facilitate cross-disciplinary research collaborations that may lead to external grant proposals.
- Monitor ORSP email inbox and respond or direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Manage ACU’s limited submissions process, by posting limited funding opportunities to the website, developing rubrics, and soliciting reviewers.
- Provide guidance on post-award research administration to ensure compliance with funding agency and university policies.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the timely submission of financial and technical reports to funding agencies.
- Staying up-to-date with funding agency regulations and guidelines
- Develop and maintain partnerships with faculty and project staff to foster effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, university policies, and sponsor guidelines.
- Serve on relevant university committees and liaise with regulatory compliance committees as assigned.
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external funding agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience in pre-award grant submission in an academic research environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Experience with creating and submitting grant proposals through systems like Research.gov, Grants.gov and Cayuse.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in university research projects and funding management.
- Knowledge of OMB’s Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200.
- Experience with PIVOT funding databases.
- Advanced knowledge of pre-award and post-award grant functions at a predominantly undergraduate institution (PUI).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with sound judgment.
