This Outside Sales Representative is remote, but must be based in Texas and willing to travel.
JOB PURPOSE
This position is responsible for promoting and selling new, used and remanufactured parts, by serving the needs of regional customers, by making calls on current and prospective customers.
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
Performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures. Has full latitude in responding to customer needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Daily Sales Functions
- Move people to action
- Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and customers.
- Conducts calls and face – to – face meetings with customers daily.
- Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
- Maintain relationships with repeat customers
- Informs regular customers of new products or services recommended by sales team.
- Develops sales knowledge by attending and participating in sales meetings and product seminars and trainings.
- Report problems with our products and services to Wholesale Division Director, so that we can work with the appropriate manager to keep the problem from reoccurring.
- Responsible for handling customer complaints in a productive and positive manner.
- Updates customer contact information on a regular basis to assure current and accurate database information.
- May be required to participate in company tradeshows, assisting with product selection for displays, maintaining show inventory, and representing the company in a professional manner.
- Manage all maintenance on assigned company vehicle, including oil changes, washes, etc.
- Supports and adds to the sales team by promoting team goals and a positive team attitude.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.
- Follows all departmental procedures and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Technology and Tools
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of related work experience
- Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills; including excel.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Customer service and sales experience preferred.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, bend, and/or stoop. Ability to exert 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently (Level 4 Heavy Work).
- Ability to stand, walk, and drive as needed throughout the day.
- Ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal.
- Ability to communicate by phone or other communication device with customers.
- Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity.
- Ability to withstand prolonged sitting in car or office.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
