Position: Activities Manager
Job Summary: The Activities Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the social, psycho-social, and therapeutic needs of the Abilis community. This role involves creating and managing programs that foster socialization, provide entertainment, promote relaxation, enhance daily living skills, and encourage community engagement. The Activities Manager will oversee both large and small group activities, such as sporting events, music, physical activities, cooking classes, and other social programs.
Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and direct the development of activities that cater to the social, recreational, and psycho-social needs of the Abilis community.

Ensure programs are age-appropriate and meet the needs of individuals across various age cohorts.

Build and maintain relationships with community partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to promote and expand the scope of Abilis’ activities program.

Serve as the primary liaison between participants, administrative staff, and community members.

Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including scheduling, facilities, equipment, and staffing.

Oversee the promotion and advertising of events, manage participant registrations, and coordinate payments with the Finance Department.

Develop and adhere to performance metrics in collaboration with senior management to evaluate the success of individual programs.

Maintain detailed records of participant engagement and program costs and provide regular reports on program outcomes.

Manage the department’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Conduct variance analyses and other financial assessments as needed.

Ensure all programs comply with internal policies, licensing and accreditation requirements, and state regulations. Maintain all required documentation related to these programs.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in education planning, social work, business management, or a related field.

Certification as an Activities Professional is preferred.

Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in developing and implementing programs for individuals with disabilities or experience in social services with a focus on the developmentally disabled population.

Must be in good physical and mental health, with the ability to assist program participants as needed.

Capable of sitting, standing, bending, walking, and carrying items related to activities.

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
