Position: Program Manager
Program Assignment: Residential Services
Supervisor: Director of Residential Services
Job Summary: The Program Manager is the on-site supervisory position within the residence. This role is responsible for directing, supervising, implementing, and evaluating the residential programs in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures. The Program Manager ensures that residents' needs are met, promotes a supportive environment, and provides direct care and supervision as needed. Flexibility is essential to adapt to the diverse needs of individual residents.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary communication link between the residence, residents, families, and agency programs.
• Conduct tours for prospective residents and evaluate the appropriateness of admissions through review of case records and interviews.
• Develop and implement Individual Plans (IPs) for all residents, ensuring goals and strategies are communicated and executed effectively.
• Provide crisis assistance as outlined in the agency’s Policy & Procedures manual.
• Monitor the physical health of residents and refer for medical/diagnostic services as necessary.
• Facilitate staff meetings and ensure all team members are trained and comfortable in implementing developed goals.
• Participate in the interviewing and hiring process with the Residential Director.
• Provide orientation, training, and continuous supervision for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assigned to the residence.
• Maintain thorough documentation of staff training, including completion of the agency’s Driving Course, CPR, Medication Certification, and other required trainings.
• Provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations for all staff, including handling misconduct, and recognizing merit.
• Develop work schedules for staff, accommodating vacation requests and other time off.
• Ensure the residence meets licensure requirements and that agency philosophy is maintained.
• Monitor and document all areas of compliance, including staff employment requirements, fire safety, food preparation, medical supplies, and program documentation.
• Attend and facilitate inspections as required and maintain a compliant petty cash and resident cash system.
• Ensure all residential equipment and vehicles are inventoried, operable, and well-maintained.
• Regularly inspect physical facilities, complete necessary forms, and coordinate repair work.
• Maintain up-to-date resident files, ensuring that all required documentation is accurate and filed in a timely manner.
• Promote positive relations with neighbors and the public by providing information about the residence and Abilis while respecting confidentiality policies.
• Encourage and support activities that enhance residents’ integration into the community.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• At least one year of full-time employment in a residential program or related field with supervisory responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license, meeting the agency’s vehicle insurance requirements.
• CPR and Medication Certification (or ability to obtain and maintain certification).
• Ability to be understood by and effectively communicate with agency participants.
• Physically able to perform CPR and the Heimlich maneuver, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate agency vehicles safely, as authorized by the agency’s driver certification program.
• Proficiency in managing and supervising staff, implementing program goals, and maintaining facility and resident records.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
