Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PhD Scientist in Antibody Discovery to lead ambitious antibody discovery campaigns on several targets. The ideal candidate must have extensive expertise in yeast display and/or phage display. This role requires an individual that is passionate about antibody engineering and is willing to both plan and execute excellent experimental work. The candidate needs to be able to inspire a team of talented scientists focused on building a unique pipeline of antibody therapeutic candidates and the potential to achieve breakthroughs beyond the reach of conventional approaches. The position is ideally suited for a proactive individual who thrives in generating cutting-edge results, taking on responsibility, and discussing challenges in a team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and drive antibody discovery campaigns, working closely with a cross-functional team of scientists to support experimental design and execution.
- Drive lead optimization activities, including antibody characterization, engineering, affinity maturation, humanization, ensuring progress aligns with the company’s objectives and timelines.
- Contribute effectively to project teams by leveraging expertise in antibody generation and design.
- Contribute to seamless transitions from discovery through development candidate nomination.
- Manage relationships with external collaborators, including CROs and pharma partners, to ensure efficient project execution and alignment with goals.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a related field (REQUIRED).
- Minimum of 6 years of antibody discovery experience in the laboratory, with at least 3 years in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry (REQUIRED).
- Extensive hands-on expertise in antibody discovery using yeast and/or phage display technologies, including antibody library design and construction (REQUIRED).
- Proven track record of leading successful antibody discovery campaigns, including affinity maturation and antibody engineering.
- Strong program management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and external collaborations effectively.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools for biotherapeutic discovery and engineering is a plus.
