What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Day Services Instructor position at Abilities Plus?
Supervise clients and provide instruction and documentation in areas of self-care, independent living skills, socialization, recreational/leisure activities, community integration and pre-vocational/vocational skills for Community Day Services participants.
Qualified candidates will also
- Provide and assist with transportation of clients as assigned
- Complete assessments and evaluation of participant functional levels and document results
- Conduct daily individualized or group instruction using written curriculum guides
- Conduct individual pre-vocational/vocational and job skills training
- Actively supervise clients at all times, ensuring client safety
- Supervise and assist clients in self-care, including restrooming, grooming/hygiene and feeding
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and maintain agency safety standards
- Perform additional duties as required and are necessary to insure continued efficient and effective operation of the Community Day Service Program as well as that of the agency in general
