We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly children on the autism spectrum. This role involves developing and implementing effective care plans, utilizing behavioral therapy techniques, and collaborating with families to enhance the quality of life for those we serve.
Duties
- Assess and evaluate the needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Develop individualized care plans that incorporate behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Assist in implementing therapeutic interventions and monitor progress towards goals.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of client interactions and treatment plans.
- Conduct research data collection to support program development and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices for working with individuals with autism.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children on the autism spectrum or other developmental disabilities is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to assist in creating care plans is highly desirable.
- Experience in behavioral health, including knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, is preferred.
- Background in applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a strong asset.
- Ability to collect and analyze research data related to autism interventions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective collaboration with families and team members.
