The Billing/Coding Specialist provides financial and related business services to the Agency.

Responsibilities:

• The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Oversees billing to various vendors to ensure timely payment of services
• Maintains current knowledge of, and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations in relation to billing processes.
• Inform participants of any related billing or insurance occurrences that may impact care.
• Ensures accurate and timely billing processes by reviewing patient charts for compliance/accuracy with all billing requirements before billing.
• Exhibits knowledge and proficiency in utilizing CPT and ICD-10 Coding Books and Medical Terminology.
• Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures as well as community and professional standards.
• Communicates necessary information to Supervisor and Management team to ensure coordination of services and activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Education, college preferred
• 1 to 2 years' experience billing of federal and state payers
• 1 year health care experience preferred in billing and coding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Self-starter

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
