The Billing/Coding Specialist provides financial and related business services to the Agency.
Responsibilities:
- The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Oversees billing to various vendors to ensure timely payment of services
- Maintains current knowledge of, and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations in relation to billing processes.
- Inform participants of any related billing or insurance occurrences that may impact care.
- Ensures accurate and timely billing processes by reviewing patient charts for compliance/accuracy with all billing requirements before billing.
- Exhibits knowledge and proficiency in utilizing CPT and ICD-10 Coding Books and Medical Terminology.
- Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures as well as community and professional standards.
- Communicates necessary information to Supervisor and Management team to ensure coordination of services and activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Education, college preferred
- 1 to 2 years' experience billing of federal and state payers
- 1 year health care experience preferred in billing and coding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
