Job Overview: We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to join our team at Ability Inclusion Services (formerly Work Activity Center). As a Program Specialist, you will contribute to the programming of our Day Program that focuses on enriching the lives of adults with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities. The Day Program focuses our activities and classes in three main areas: creative arts, community inclusion, and healthy lifestyles.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8/8:30am-4pm at $21.00 - $22.00/hr
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships and spend quality time with the individuals we serve to develop a connection of trust and safety.
- Create a schedule of activities with your team, with a focus on the individuals goals and interests, and encourage excitement and participation.
- Maintain a caseload of up to 30 individuals, learning their goals, interests and what supports they need.
- Support DSP-Crew Leaders in executing activities by having monthly meetings, assisting with driving, and subbing for days off/call outs.
- Sub for transportation professionals.
- Lead small group activities with a focus on achieving set goals
- Assist individuals with hygiene needs such as toileting and changing briefs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments and other outings.
- Review documentation for accuracy, prepare monthly and annual reports, assist in intakes.
- Special projects as needed.

Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have a valid Utah driver's license, and a good driving record
- Must be able to drive up to a Starcraft Coach (small bus)
- Ability to pass background check
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Must be CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist) certified or able to be certified within 6 months (organization will pay for certification, with conditions)
- Need a stable work history and record of excellent attendance and dependability
- Must be in good physical condition and able to stand for long periods, kneel, bend at the waist, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds
