What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Tech-Therapeutic Preschool position at Ability KC?

Our therapeutic preschool is seeking a Full-time Rehab Tech (64 hours). Our staff establishes a positive, pleasant, and safe learning environment for all children where learning is stimulating and appropriate for the children’s abilities.
Promotes the physical, social emotional and cognitive development of young children and respond to the needs of the families. Provides a developmental experiential approach within the classroom that accommodates children with special need and follows appropriate practices for early childhood equation. Active participant of the child’s team. Other duties as assigned.
Position is at our therapeutic learning preschool providing services to children with disabilities. You will have a great team of teachers and administrative staff to collaborate with and a wonderful group of children that will tug at your heart. School runs year-round, so never lose work during the summer!

JOB OVERVIEW:
Under close supervision of physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant, performs selected, delegated skilled tasks in specific situations. Assists therapist, assistant or student in delivery of care. May assist Speech pathologist, RN or Rehab Assistant as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Six months experience in a health care setting or equivalent technical training in a related health care field.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Flexibility, good interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively verbally is required.
ROUTINE CONTACTS:
Routine contacts include facility staff, physicians, patients, case managers, students, visitors, physician office staff, patient’s family members/support system, insurance companies, employers, community organizations, and equipment/supply vendors.
This position shall have access only to patient or client Protected Health Information on a need-to-know basis (only that Protected Health Information that is required to perform the job duties described in this job description).
