Learning Links Preschool, of AbilityPath, is hiring an Assistant Director to join our team!

Compensation : $70,000-$75,000 / annually (based on education and experience)

Schedule : Full-time Monday - Friday, 8 work hours per day between 8am - 6pm

ABOUT THE ROLE - What we value :

Leadership and Teacher Support

  • Vision & Inclusive Learning Environment : Assist in implementing the preschool's mission of creating a thriving, inclusive environment that caters to children of all abilities, ensuring quality early childhood education.
  • Classroom Leadership & Observations : Oversee teacher and classroom observations, providing feedback to enhance leadership, performance, and teacher development. Facilitate reflective practices for continuous improvement.
  • Coaching & Modeling Best Practices : Provide ongoing coaching to support teacher growth, modeling best teaching practices in the classroom, and helping teachers implement effective strategies.
  • Compliance, Scheduling, and Operations

  • Licensing and Compliance : Support the management of Title 22 regulations, licensing, and compliance policies to ensure a safe and compliant classroom setting.
  • Classroom Scheduling : Help manage teacher and classroom schedules, maintaining appropriate student-teacher ratios and ensuring classroom supervision. Assist with scheduling on-call staff and substitutes as needed.
  • Internships & Volunteer Programs : Coordinate with Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs for college relations, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Supervise interns and volunteers, ensuring they receive valuable experience.
  • Curriculum and Classroom Support

  • Curriculum Development & Implementation : Guide teachers in developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative curricula that align with Learning Link's inclusion philosophy. Ensure that activities support both educational goals and children's social-emotional well-being.
  • Classroom Environment & Teacher Support : Assist teachers in setting up well-defined learning centers and ensuring that classrooms function efficiently. Support teachers in establishing meaningful relationships with parents and creating opportunities for parent involvement.
  • Program Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Quality Rating & Improvement Systems (QRIS) : Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by supporting the preschool team in tracking student progress and participating in QRIS or NAEYC initiatives to enhance program quality.
  • Staff Training & Development : Identify staff training needs and create goals and training plans to address them, supporting teacher professional development and program improvement.
  • Safety, Communication, and Miscellaneous Duties

  • Safety & Emergency Drills : Participate in safety committee meetings and plan, track, and report on the center's monthly emergency practice drills, ensuring staff and children's safety.
  • Staffing & Onboarding : Support staffing planning and assist with onboarding new preschool staff, ensuring they are integrated and prepared for their roles.
  • Parent Conferences & Additional Duties : Coordinate parent conferences with teachers, the Center Director, and service providers. Assist with tasks such as enrollment, transitions, Open Houses, and other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :

    Below is a list of education and work experience qualifications . We encourage you to apply even if you may not meet all the listed qualifications and you are interested in becoming a Preschool Teacher.

  • BA in Early Childhood Special Education, or Child Development
  • 24 Core ECE units as per Title 22 requirements (including Infant Toddler and 1 supervisory course)
  • 2 years' experience as Lead Teacher in a play-based, emergent program that utilizes : DRDP and ASQ

    HIRING REQUIREMENTS :

  • Valid California Driver's License / ID
  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Verification of occupational physical clearance
  • Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age or job permit clearance
  • PHYSICAL ACTIVITY :

    Preschool Teacher responsibilities include the physical support of children :

  • Lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
  • Sit, stand, and bend frequently to engage children
