Ambulance Operator - Full Time
We’re hiring an Ambulance Operator that will respond to emergent and non-emergent requests for transportation needs, and deliver high-quality care, treatment and customer service to patients.
The successful candidate will work three 13.5 hour rotating shifts weekly, with opportunities for overtime if desired.
Shift Hours - 6AM through 7:30PM
Responsibilities:
- Drivers will respond to operation and dispatch requests and use the necessary tools, maps and addresses to efficiently transport patients to and from facilities in a timely manner.
- Clearly document trip information details and adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
- Take pride in maintaining a safe and clean vehicle environment for patients, complete the regular mechanical checklist at the start of shifts and report any vehicle issues to the Fleet Manager as needed.
- Use appropriate communication methods including mobile telephone and/or standard radio transmission to effectively respond and route patients and comply with the company’s information security standards.
- Drivers will operate transportation equipment including stretchers and stair-chairs, as well as be able to use protective personal equipment and manage disposal of supplies as necessary.
- Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow drivers and operations team.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Driving record in compliance with company policy
- Pass Physical Ability Test
- Pass 12-Panel Drug Screening
- Pass a federal background check
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Virginia OEMS approved EVOC/EVDT course certificate
- BLS-HCP CPR certification
- Prior ambulance industry experience
