RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform laboratory microbiology testing according to standard procedures, including specimen processing, reading of gram stains, reading culture plates and releasing of patient results
Perform technical duties in laboratory sections, with minimal supervision, as assigned – minimum of one year microbiology/molecular experience.
Assures the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures. Performs routine and advanced equipment maintenance & identifies problems that may adversely affect results and can correct the issue.
Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
Job Description
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required
- Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, related life science, or applied science field.
- 1 year experience and/or training in a laboratory setting
- ASCP certification preferred.
