We are a mid-market public accounting firm seeking an accounting professional to add to our CAS Department. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial management and is well-equipped to oversee daily financial operations, ensure compliance, and contribute to strategic planning.
This position will play a vital role in managing a diverse portfolio of high-impact projects within various clients/organizations. In the realm of financial reporting and compliance, you will ensure all financial reports adhere to regulatory standards and are delivered accurately to stakeholders, maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and interpret the financial records of a company
- Manage an organization’s accounting and finance functions
- Manage critical financial functions and ensure compliance to minimize the risk of regulatory issues or disruptions
- Oversee financial reporting according to GAAP
- Budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and business regulations
- Create reports based on analysis and research
- Implement detailed forecasts and establish robust budgeting processes to maintain financial stability
- Present reports to executives or other top-level managers
- Audit preparation focused on streamlining financial records and preparing comprehensive documentation for external audits (routine annual reviews or specific compliance checks)
- Oversee crucial updates or complete overhauls of financial software while maintaining data integrity and ensuring proper training for team members
- Manage the complex financial due diligence process and oversee integration efforts
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 10 years of managing accounting or finance operations
- Prior public experience required
- At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience
- Prior experience in process improvements to carefully evaluate existing workflows and identify inefficiencies
- CPA preferred
