What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swing Driver position at ABL WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTORS?
For over 50 years ABL Wholesale Distributors has been the premiere single- source distributor serving retailers in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. We are currently searching for a Swing Delivery Driver to join our rapidly growing team.
Requirements and skills:
- At minimum, one year delivery experience or applicable background driving a 16’ box truck or van preferred.
- Attention to detail, able to work with accuracy in a fast pace environment.
- Physical strength, must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Will frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer.
- Operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliable and punctual.
- Available to work overtime as needed.
- Minimum Education, High School or Equivalent
- Fluent in English (writing and reading) must have basic math skills.
- Must pass a drug test and be able to be insured.
Responsibilities:
- Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
- Will be required to assist with loading-trucks, palletizing product, and performing other warehouse & vehicle duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
- Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas. May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
- Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
- Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to condition of equipment/ vehicle, routing, safety, and customer relations.
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
- Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills.
- Adhere to safety and health policies and quality standards.
- When not on the road must be able to stock shelves, pick orders, clean up the warehouse or perform any other tasks that may be assigned to you from a supervisor.
Shift:
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday

Hourly Pay:
Rate 1: 16.88 with an increase after 6 months to 18.75
Rate 2: 17.91 with an increase after 6 months to 19.90
This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement
