Industrial Maintenance Technician

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – 50% travel

*Must be able to travel domestically and internationally at least 50% of the time for multiple days and 3 to 4 weeks at a time.

**Must be willing and able to repair, overhaul, etc. fruit and food processing equipment for up to 8-10 hours in cold room environments (30 - 35 Degrees Fahrenheit).

What you will do:

This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of processing equipment according to safety and productive maintenance systems to achieve customer satisfaction and departmental objectives.

• Perform repairs, overhauls, preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment to ensure full customer satisfaction regarding equipment performance and service
• Troubleshoot equipment problems to reduce productivity losses
• Implement long term corrective actions to avoid repeat issues
• Maintain spare parts inventory to support production and customer needs while maintaining budget and inventory objectives
• Document and report machine performance, corrective actions, maintenance activities, parts utilization, and inventory to achieve efficiency and regular operation of equipment
• Follow all standard work procedures, safety regulations, and policies to maintain a safe working environment
• Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and any shift to meet business demands
• Must be able to work at assigned customer plant and travel to other customer plants as needed to meet business demands
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
• Follow proper safety procedures and safeguards others’ safety at all times, understanding the obligation to refuse to perform any tasks that are unsafe
• Maintain work assigned area or normal working area so that it is clean and orderly
• Assist others in need and help to improve their skills
• Accept all other duties as assigned

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

• Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting up 50 pound
• Capable of standing and walking up to 12 hours a day
• Capable of climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder height
• Capable of working in hot, humid, wet and cold environments

What it will take to be successful:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical and electrical skills, knowledge and experience
• Relevant experience working as a maintenance technician or repairing industrial equipment
• Experience working with hand tools
• Ability to train machine operators once installation has been completed
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
• Ability to work under pressure with a high degree of professionalism and customer service
• Ability to work efficiently and with little to no direct supervision or alone
• Must be able to read mechanical drawings (layouts, assembly drawings) and electrical schematics
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)
• Must be able to work with Windows (Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point)
• Must be able to work and assist customer technicians via remote “Teleservice” tools such as WhatsApp, Webex

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
