Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with diverse abilities in their daily activities.
- Assist clients in developing skills necessary for independent living.
- Foster a supportive and positive environment that promotes clients' physical and emotional well-being.
- Facilitate and encourage social interaction and community involvement.
- Collaborate with team members, families, and other professionals to create and implement individualized support plans.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients by following established protocols and procedures.
- Document and report on clients' progress and any changes in their condition.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in human services or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism..
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about making a positive difference in clients' lives.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid CPR & First Aid certification or the willingness to obtain these certifications prior to placement.
- Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
