What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator 1st and 2nd shift position at ABLE COMPOSITES LLC?
The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a press brake machine to bend, shape, or cut metal sheets and plates according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring the produced parts meet quality standards by performing necessary adjustments and inspections through out the manufacturing process.
Machine setup: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine required bends, angles, and tooling needed to produce the desired part.
Tooling selection: Choose and install appropriate punches and dies based on the metal material and desired bend profile Material handling: Load metal sheets or plates onto the press brake, ensuring proper alignment and clamping.
Machine operation: Program the CNC controls to execute the bending sequence, including bend angles, speeds, and pressure.
Quality control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface defects, making adjustments as necessary.
Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of the press brake, identifying and reporting any mechanical issues. Safety procedures: Adhere to all safety protocols related to operating heavy machinery, including proper personal protective equipment usage.
