What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Setup Technician position at ABLE COMPOSITES LLC?
The Brake Press Setup Technician is responsible and accountable for the safe and accurate setup and the operation of the CNC Brake Press equipment.
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine the required specifications for each job.
- Select the appropriate tooling, dies, and machinery settings for each bending operation.
- Position metal plates and sheets onto the press brake machine and accurately align them according to the specified measurements.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and depth to ensure precise bending and shaping of the metal.
- Monitor the operation of the press brake machine, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications, dimensions, and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press brake machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or notify the maintenance department for repairs.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Minimum 2 years previous brake press experience.
Experience with Amada Preferred
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines and knowledge of various bending techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
- Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure and calculate dimensions for bending operations.
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure precision and accuracy in all bending and shaping tasks.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle metal plates and sheets effectively.
- Knowledge of different types of metals, their characteristics, and how they respond to bending operations.
- Good problem-solving skills to identify and resolve minor machine issues.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and convey important information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Extensive standing, recurring bending, reaching as well as moderate to heavy lifting.
