What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leadership Role (Manager/Assistant Manager) position at ABLE, Inc.?
Manager/Assistant Manager will have the ability to influence, identify problems and work together with a team to find solutions and demonstrate personal drive, must have the ability to work alone, and to communicate effectively orally and in written reports. This role will work closely with their leadership team. This position also requires working closely with family members, guardians and other internal/external parties as appropriate.
Primary Functions
- Support ABLE, Inc.'s mission: Contribute to the organization's goals and values.
- Maintain a positive environment: Ensure a safe and clean living space for individuals supported.
- Manage medical needs: Coordinate and oversee the medical care of individuals supported.
- Perform Direct Support Professional duties: As assigned in people's plan.
- Understand ABLE, Inc.'s policies and procedures: Be knowledgeable about the organization's guidelines.
- Serve as a role model: Demonstrate positive behavior and leadership for staff and individuals supported.
Related Duties
- Assist with staff management: Participate in interviews, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Facilitate staff meetings: Organize and lead staff meetings.
- Ensure accurate documentation: Verify that staff are completing necessary paperwork.
- Address staff conflicts: Help resolve disputes among staff members.
Coordination
- Manage supplies: Ensure that individuals supported have necessary supplies and medications.
- Schedule appointments: Coordinate medical appointments and transportation.
- Maintain inventory: Ensure adequate supplies of food, clothing, forms, etc.
- Follow dietary guidelines: Assist in purchasing appropriate food items.
- Organize recreational activities: Plan and arrange activities for individuals supported.
- Assist with financial matters: Contribute to monthly data reports and financial reviews.
Direct Support Professional Duties
Qualifications
- Experience: some experience in the field of developmental disabilities or a related field is preferred.
- Supervision experience: Experience with supervising others is advantageous.
- Self-initiative: Ability to work independently and complete tasks proactively.
- Advocacy: Strong commitment to advocating for the rights of individuals supported.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and delegate tasks effectively.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and overnights.
