JOB SUMMARY:
The position provides direct leadership support for individual contributors that develop FAA approved component repairs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish, manage, and report on specific team production and quality requirements.
Develop repair instructions and provide insight to team on best practices and technical justificationEstablish a detailed, technical justification for the condition and repair based on standard engineering toolsPerform final review of documents and maintain engineer stampManagement tasks include establishing, managing and reporting on specific team production, cycle time, and quality requirements for repair documents, tool designs or other tech writing/doc revision efforts ; including, development of performance requirements for each direct report, engaging in performance and behavior feedback, preparing, and delivering bi-annual reviewsMentoringand trainingengineers on document development and providing specific technical skill development guidance.Carry out special projects to develop key processes and workflow documents, enabling continuous improvement in the production and quality of the team outputWorking of other tasks on a “as needed” basis
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field requiredMinimum 5 years of relative technical experience required QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent leadership, project management, time management, team collaboration, and organizational skills.Experience in RCCA practices, quality improvement strategies, aircraft manuals and requirements, interpretation of blueprints (including GD&T), and tool development.Experience in a complex work environment with a mixed value stream, high variation of work scope, and high complexity of process requirements.Complete understanding of engineering principals and manufacturing processes as pertaining to Able.
Ability to apply standard analytical techniques to support justification methodology for complex repairs on critical and life limited aircraft components.Cross-functional knowledge of operations, supply chain and quality to enable coordinating efforts to implement processes driving engineering performance.
Technical writing expertise.Knowledgeable in computer applications relating to the job; including, Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, and other aerospace applications.
