The Volunteer Manager plays a key role in setting up the systems, policies, and practices for local deployment. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for both our team members, volunteers, and the people we support. This role partners closely with Advancement, Operations, and Corporate leaders.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred.
4 years of relevant progressive experience in volunteer management.
Valid Driver's License
Travels into market according to need.
Responsibilities:
Partner with all stakeholders to establish the standard operating practices, policies, and systems for local deployment.
Monitor volunteer performance and provide feedback and guidance as needed.
Address any issues or conflicts that may arise among volunteers and organizations.
Design and deliver overall AbleLight orientation programs for new and existing volunteers.
Provide ongoing training and support to volunteers to ensure they are equipped to fulfill their roles effectively inclusive of required background checks.
Develop resources and materials to enhance volunteer experience and improve retention and engagement rates.
Continuously review and refine Standard Operation Practice, Policies, Systems.
Maintain regular communication with volunteers through newsletters, emails, and occasional meetings.
Facilitate communication between volunteers, board members and organizations and to ensure coordination and collaboration that benefits those we support.
Develop and implement recognition programs to acknowledge the contributions of volunteers that are deployed locally.
Conduct regular check-ins with volunteers and leaders to assess satisfaction and engagement levels.
Identify opportunities for advancement or additional responsibilities for motivated volunteers.
