We are seeking a qualified Combo Operator to safely and professionally operate a Combo/Jet-Vac Truck. This role is responsible for cleaning underground pipes, vaults, and tanks using high-pressure water and vacuum equipment while ensuring site safety and traffic control. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the Combo Operator plays a key role in supporting field operations and driving production for the crew.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Combo/Jet-Vac Truck to and from worksites, cleaning sanitary and storm collection systems.
- Utilize your Class A/B CDL license to transport and operate equipment.
- Perform daily DOT vehicle inspections, complete required fuel logs, and maintain DOT paperwork.
- Clean small and large-diameter pipes, vaults, and tanks according to client standards.
- Operate all mechanical aspects of the Combo truck independently.
- Collaborate with CCTV Operators on project tasks.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs, performing routine upkeep as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with the Combo truck and other tools.
- Ensure work zone safety by setting up and maintaining proper traffic control.
- Professionally interact with clients, the public, and municipal organizations.
- Work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
- Travel to project sites locally and out of state as required by business needs (up to 80% travel, including 2-3 week durations).
- Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred); Combo Truck operation experience preferred.
- Current DOT physical and ability to obtain/maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Willingness to work 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and on varying terrain.
- Ability to walk, bend, squat, and lift/carry up to 75 pounds.
- Confined space entry experience and certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation to travel to various work sites.
- Strong work ethic and positive, professional attitude.
- Travel is required and may involve being away for 2-3 weeks at a time.
- Overtime opportunities available based on project needs.
