Job Summary
Ables is seeking a purchasing agent that would be responsible for a multidivisional company, engaging in vendor and supplier purchases.
Essential Functions
- Purchase goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with department managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous tracking history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Meets with various vendors to obtain information about products and services such as price, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Uses knowledge of the market to determine whether a product or service is good value for the company.
- Prepares request purchase orders.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Competencies or Experience Requirements

- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software

Working Conditions:
This position works in the office environment. The office environment is controlled and maintained in a safe manner. Adherence to the Safety Policy and Driving Safety Policy is vital.
Internal Relationships:
Communicates and interacts with employees on all levels in the office. Sets an example for employees in the company.
External Relationships:
The title will have a high level of contact with customers and vendors and will be required to always maintain professional communication and appearance during work hours.
