We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman to provide maintenance, repair, and general upkeep services for a commercial property. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks to ensure the building's functionality and appearance remain in optimal condition. Key Responsibilities:General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting systems.
Repairs: Fix or replace worn-out parts or equipment in the building, such as doors, locks, windows, and furniture.
Painting and Carpentry: Paint walls, touch up paintwork, and assist with carpentry work such as installing shelves, repairing fixtures, and other related tasks.
Plumbing and Electrical: Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing and electrical issues, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing light bulbs, and other necessary repairs.
HVAC System Maintenance: Assist with the cleaning, upkeep, and minor repairs of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal functioning.
General Cleaning and Upkeep: Assist with basic cleaning tasks, such as clearing debris, maintaining cleanliness around building exteriors, and performing light cleaning on carpets, floors, and furniture.
Safety and Compliance: Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with relevant local codes and regulations.
Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors for larger repairs or maintenance needs, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
Inventory Management: Keep track of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring necessary materials are available for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Emergency Response: Be available for emergency repair requests and respond to urgent maintenance issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in commercial property maintenance, facility management, or a related handyman role.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
Ability to perform minor repairs on HVAC systems, lighting, and electrical equipment.
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
Basic understanding of safety and building codes.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Attention to Detail: Ability to complete tasks with precision and ensure high-quality standards in all maintenance work.
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with tenants, property managers, and external contractors in a professional manner.
Certifications: Certification in any specialized areas (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is a plus.
Working Conditions:Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Environment: Work will be performed in a commercial office environment, with some tasks requiring work outdoors or in less-accessible areas.
Emergency Work: May require on-call or emergency services for urgent maintenance or repairs.
Pay: $33.20 per hour.
