The Ice Rink Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the ice rink with a focus on maintaining the ice surface quality and depth.

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a proactive, team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with management, subordinates, and
- customers.
- Must have the availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Measure ice and edge rinks to maintain proper ice depths on all surfaces
- Maintaining accurate ice depth logs
- Edging rinks on a daily basis
- Operating ice resurfacer
- Perform general labor associated with setup and break down of special events, ice removal/install, glass and board maintenance, etc.
- Sweeping/cleaning/general custodial maintenance of rink area including benches and locker rooms
- Work professionally with other departments to ensure all building programs transition smoothly and runon schedule.
- Evaluate the condition of ice resurfacers, compressors, minor HVAC system and other ice equipment and report issues and/or need for maintenance to director.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are executed as requested and in a safe and professional
- manner.
- Inspect all areas of the building including common areas, bathrooms, locker rooms, meeting rooms, and building exterior for damage and repair or report to director.
- Foster a customer focused culture within the department to ensure all staff is dedicated to meeting or exceeding expectations of both internal and external customers.
- Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with local, state, federal and OSHA guidelines.
- Other projects as assigned by the department director.
Required Knowledge and Essential Skills:
- Certified Ice Technician. (Preferred but not required.)
- Ability to operate ice resurfacer.
- Minor understanding of HVAC, A/V and Ice making compressor systems.
- Must possess great mechanical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to be on your feet for several hours.
- Must be able to lift items weighing 50 lbs
