What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning and Industry Partner (LIT) position at ABM US?
The Operations Learning and Industrial Training Partner (LIT Partner) will work as an embedded team member in the ATS Mechanical Operations team. They will implement top-quality in-person and virtual training programs in support of ABM’s initiatives. In this highly visible and collaborative position, the incumbent will partner closely with the ATS Mechanical team and Corporate HR and L&D Team to understand current and future business initiatives, so that the training approach supports their goals. The incumbent will take ownership of a hands-on role tasked with standardizing, tracking, and facilitating tactical on the job training. In addition to owning overall training execution and learning curriculums, the Operations Learning and Industrial Training Partner (LIT Partner) will own creating and managing accreditation of Mechanical ’s first internship program. This program will be based in Forsyth County Georgia.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance employee skills and performance within the organization including NEO (New Employee Orientation).
- Collaboration with various departments to identify training needs and develop tailored learning solutions that align with operational goals
- Act as a liaison between MECHANICAL training vendors and our MECHANICAL technicians to capture the required information to assemble and maintain ABM’s MECHANICAL training and manuals.
- Evaluation and Feedback: Collect and analyze participant feedback to assess training effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Conduct pre-and post-training assessments to measure knowledge retention and skill enhancement.
- Partner with local government and higher learning institutions [Ex: Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Tech] in the state of Georgia, to maintain internship accreditation in correlation with state funded tax relief programs.
- Anticipate, recommend, and manage the technical requirements of the Training Lab including tools and service kits for use in instruction and demonstration by learners and facilitators.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in the ongoing evaluation and enhancement of training programs based on feedback and changing operational needs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development
- Ensure quality, consistency and branding for all internally and externally produced training artifacts.
- Assist in the selection and relationship maintenance of trusted external training partners (training consultants and eLearning vendors) to deliver best-in-class and engaging instructional design, hands-on facilitation, and hybrid learning.
- Update learning content in PowerPoint, Storyline, Camtasia, and other instructional software.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- 5 years as an Instructional Designer with a successful track record in the design and delivery of eLearning, quick reference cards/guides, video creation, editing, and facilitation/participant guides.
- 5 years of technical writing in the vein of mechanical machinery.
- Intimate knowledge of Industry training and Adult Learning methodologies.
- Proven track record of working successfully in fast-paced environments that require superior collaboration skills and on-time execution.
- Basic understanding of MECHANICAL, HVAC systems
- Intimate knowledge of ABM end to end mechanical services and operational touchpoints between functions is preferred (example Sales, Infrastructure Solutions, Technical Services, Franchise, Project Management, etc.)
- Working knowledge of MECHANICAL, AC, DC, and High-Power Charging Systems and various applications is highly desired.
- Experience and interest in facility management, especially MECHANICAL environment charging market, and future of the MECHANICAL industry is a must.
- Ability to learn systems and processes quickly; a problem solver who thinks outside the box to find solutions with a track record of successful results delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships and working collaboratively across multi-functional teams.
- Ability to work successfully with both on-site and remote teams.
- Strong prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple competing deliverables is required.
- Possesses a degree of emotional intelligence and can be flexible to adapt easily in a changing environment.
- Advanced graphic design skills.
