What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Sanitation Cleaner (Bakery) position at ABM?
ABM is hiring Industrial Sanitation Cleaner for our customer located in Tucker, Georgia.
Sanitation Duties and Responsibilities
- You will focus on maintaining high-quality sanitary conditions in a baking facility by performing various duties, including production lines and equipment, bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, breakrooms, processing, etc.
- You will be responsible for establishing priorities and work independently without direct supervision. You will plan work schedules and team assignments that ensure the business needs are met or exceeded.
- You will lead a Startup/Huddle Meeting with the team at the start of each shift.
- You will visually inspect equipment and Sanitation Associate performance prior to the sanitization process and after to ensure proper reinstall and no damage during the cleaning process.
- You will efficiently disassemble and assemble equipment for proper cleaning. You will set up line and all equipment to company standards prior to a production run.
- You will perform duties as assigned from the Master Sanitation Program. You will complete the sanitation checklist following each wash, keeping the manager informed of any unsanitary practices that may be occurring in the plant.
- You will work directly with sanitation leadership and Quality Food Safety (QFS) to correct cleaning deficiencies that may exist after inspection. You will communicate and work with production to ensure that Shutdown and line release meets company standards.
- You will conduct new team member training, lead team on daily duties and ensure task assignment completion. You will ensure that every member on team understands and owns responsibility and are properly trained and equipped to perform job.
- You will oversee the proper storage, labeling, and handling/use of all cleaning supplies, chemicals, and disinfecting equipment.
- You will work to maintain and improve the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.
- You will safely operate equipment and machines used in the cleaning process to include, but not limited to, rack washer, power washer, steamer, washer extractors and dryers.
- You must follow the Food Safety, SSOP’s, & Food Quality Plans to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Standards, the GFSI system and other 3rd party audits.
- Additional responsibilities & duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- 1 years of sanitation experience is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work around various chemicals and food machinery equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time (except for break and lunch periods), climb, perform repetitive motions, and work in a dusty, loud and hot environment.
- You must have good written and oral English language communication skills.
- You must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work 8 hour shifts, irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off) and work nights, holidays, and weekends (frequently required).
