Job Overview:
The Treasury Associate is responsible for all daily Treasury activities. These activities include cash management, collateral management, interest and client facilitation of foreign currencies (FX) and T-Bill / Repurpose activity.
This is a hybrid role based in other Chicago office, with a min of 3 days a week in office required.
Job Responsibilities:
Cash Management:
- Responsible for monitoring and projecting bank account balances intraday to ensure adequate funding for the firm to meet its financial and regulatory obligations.
- Ensures proper segregation of client funding.
- Ensures proper processing of client and external wires.
- Analyzes and solves differences between account entries and payments, in order to come to a correct settlement of payments.
Collateral Management:
- Invests futures funding in Rule 1.25 compliant investments as defined by the firm’s Treasury and Investment Policy to maximize firm profitability.
- Pledges compliant collateral at CCPs and exchanges to meet margin requirements while maximizing firm profitability.
- Books settlements and collateral trades into the bookkeeping system and inputs security movements into exchanges systems.
Interest:
- Ensuring clients are charged correctly for the business we facilitate for them
- Making sure that the charges we incur externally are in line with the interest charges we pass on to our clients (Review Static data setup)
- Handle client queries related to interest
Client Facilitation:
- Upon direction from the client or to hedge/mitigate firm exposure, enter and execute order through FX portal.
- Upon requests from clients, will interact with external counterparties to purchase or sell government securities for collateral purposes and ensure proper recording in the client accounts.
- Handles client queries and cancelations to satisfy the clients- needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1 years of work experience in treasury, collateral management, or accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Basic knowledge of financial products
- Familiarity with stock loan and securities industry regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in process improvement/automation
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge, including VBA
- Ability to work onsite a min of 3 days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
- DTC knowledge
- Advanced data analytics skills, e.g. SQL and Tableau
Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $75,000-$100,000
