We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Intern pursuing a degree in Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) or a related field. This role offers hands-on experience in construction project management, field operations, and engineering coordination. The intern will work closely with project teams to support various phases of construction, gaining valuable insights into industry best practices and building a strong foundation for a career in construction management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Monitor project progress and report any deviations from the plan.
- Support the preparation of change orders and project submittals.
- Collaborate with the site superintendent to ensure daily operations align with project goals.
- Perform safety audits and ensure compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Observe and assist in quality control inspections.
- Act as a liaison between the office and field teams to streamline project communication.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes for distribution.
- Support coordination with subcontractors and vendors.
- Update and maintain project records, including RFIs, submittals, and daily reports.
- Analyze project data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Use construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or BIM tools) to track project performance.
- Assist with creating and reviewing schedules to improve project outcomes.
- Enrolled in a Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) degree program or a related field.

- Prior internship or field experience in construction or a related field is a plus.
- Strong interest in construction project management and field operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction software is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of construction processes and materials.
