Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented contract to hire Pharmacy Trainee or Pharmacy Technician to join our Abound Compounding Pharmacy Team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacist in providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment, particularly in critical and acute care settings.
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for assisting with verifying insurance, handling payments, filling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, cleaning and disinfecting pharmacy space, and providing excellent customer service. Your attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with customers and healthcare professionals will be essential to the success of our pharmacy.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain medication inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary.
- Provide patient service by answering questions regarding medications and health-related inquiries.
- Compound non-sterile medications.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medication handling and storage.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes.
- Document medication administration and maintain accurate patient records.
- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of pharmacy practices and medical terminology.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, with a strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care is essential.
- Experience in acute care settings is an advantage, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and medication administration practices is required.
