Job Summary:
We are searching for a professional, qualified, and experienced Housing & Employment Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will provide case management and support clients in their housing and employment needs. The Housing and Employment Office is open to the community and works with clients in vulnerable situations, such as those struggling with substance use disorder and homelessness. You will help clients navigate the housing system and work with community partners to provide pathways from Emergency Housing to Transitional Housing to Semi-Permanent Housing to Permanent Housing. You should be compassionate, knowledgeable, and aligned with our harm reduction values, as you develop a working relationship with our community members.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a variety of people from different backgrounds to learn about their challenges, and work towards solutions for their housing and employment needs
- Work with clients on housing & employment applications
- Maintain current client data and keep detailed case notes
- Help build and workshop resumes
- Provide job training and employment resources
- Link clients to community resources, partnerships, and opportunities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in housing desired
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of the Chicago Housing System
- The ability to multitask
- Familiarity with basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe suite
