Location: Beaumont, TX
Status: Contract – 6 months. Possible conversion to full-time.

Qualifications/Requirements
High school diploma / GED
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Quality control lab and/or minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Ability and willingness to work a rotating schedule
Desired Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Health with laboratory experience
Working knowledge of SAP
Experience working with lab equipment such as Gas Chromatograph, HPLC, FTIR and Atomic Absorption
Knowledge of wet chemistry methodology including automated titrations, Brookfield viscosities, solid analysis and reagent and standard preparations.
Knowledge of waste management regulations and guidelines
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn general repair and maintenance of QC equipment
HAZMAT, RCRA and DOT training
Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously
Knowledge of ISO standards, quality procedures and audit techniques
Knowledge of Quality Control concepts and their application
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-starter, team player
Strong math and computer skills

- In this role, you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
- Contribute to the upkeep of lab equipment and materials.
- Create and effectively manage documentation related to research and perform lab-based chemical tests
- Conduct testing on raw material, in-process, and finished materials using analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry methodology
- Maintain and make general repairs to quality equipment and instrumentation
- Assist the EHS team with waste manifest and other required documentation for waste shipments
- Lab scale polymerizations
- Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Maintain the quality system as established by the Quality System Manual, audit the quality system for effectiveness
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace by following Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and procedures and ensuring compliance with regulations.
