What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at ABOVE EXPECTATIONS LLC?
The following roles listed below are the duties our direct care providers whom are responsible to assist our individuals with excellent care and provide person centered planning and empowering them to reach their highest potential.
Purpose:
Under the Supervision of Program Supervisor the responsibility to cover the shift and clinical intervention with individuals.
Responsibilities:
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the following but not limited to the specific responsibilities:
- Perform all job duties with the Agency’s mission, vision, and values in mind
- Attend and complete mandatory trainings and staff meetings as assigned (including but not limited to Relias courses, MANDT, LLAM, CPR, House Meetings)
- Identify and assist with formulation of individuals support needs, Person Centered Plan (PCP) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
- Read and acknowledge all plans pertinent to individuals care annually or as updated
- Establish and maintain working relationships with families and guardians
- Record significant shift happenings and observations in the Electronic Record
- Safeguard individuals’ funds and complete appropriate documentation.
- Support or perform aspects of personal care such as tooth-brushing, toileting, bathing, clothing, and feeding.
- Responsible for Assistance with medication administration. All employees must maintain Approved LLAM Medication Status and follow proper LLAM protocol, including medication administration documentation
- Perform housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, shopping, laundry, mopping and meal preparation
- Complete household duty checklist on a daily basis
- Drive agency assigned Fleet vehicles and provide transportation to individuals’ functions and appointments.
- Act as an advocate for individuals both in the home and in the community.
- Assist with planning outings and activities to keep individuals active in the home and community
- Maintain and adhere to ethics of confidentiality, including, but not limited to HIPAA compliance.
- Provide assistance to individual’s experiencing crises and provide both support and solutions.
- Report any incidents identified in the PM-46 policy (or Above Expectations LLC policy)
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of each individual
- Perform any related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Experience:
- Direct Support: 2 years (Preferred)
Requirements:
- Possession of High School Diploma, or GED, 2-3 years of experience working in a related field. College degree highly recommended. Valid Driver's License minimum age 18 years old. CPR, MANDT, and LLAM preferred.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- MANDT/LLAM Certificate (Preferred)
- CPR / First Aid (Preferred)
Pay based on experience (up to $20 / hour)
Typical schedule: Sunday-Wednesday, Wednesday-Saturday 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM
