AboveAir Technologies, based in Frederick, Maryland, has been a leading provider of innovative indoor HVAC product solutions for commercial and industrial applications since 2003. With a state-of-the-art 90,000 sqft. manufacturing facility, AboveAir designs and deploys high-quality HVAC equipment tested and listed by Intertek (ETL), Inc. The company's commercial systems have been chosen by prominent clients across various industries.

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of materials management and the ability to work with various systems, including MRP, Oracle EBS, and SAP ERP. The Buyer will play a crucial role in supporting our logistics operations while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Duties

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate contracts effectively.
• Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Utilize systems such as MRP, Oracle EBS, and SAP ERP for inventory management and procurement activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
• Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance to maintain quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of materials management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with systems such as MRP, Oracle EBS, SAP ERP, or similar software is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
• Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
