Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of materials management and the ability to work with various systems, including MRP, Oracle EBS, and SAP ERP. The Buyer will play a crucial role in supporting our logistics operations while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Utilize systems such as MRP, Oracle EBS, and SAP ERP for inventory management and procurement activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
- Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance to maintain quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of materials management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with systems such as MRP, Oracle EBS, SAP ERP, or similar software is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
