The AboveAir Buyer will be responsible for the issuance of purchase orders as required by our MRP system. In addition, the Buyer is responsible for the individual management of suppliers to ensure excellent performance including high quality materials delivered on-time. The Buyer will also create and drive improved material productivity through savings projects they are assigned or that they create.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Manage the issuance of purchase orders as recommended by the planning system or as requested by management.
- Manage PO approval process, PO revisions, supplier confirmation and maintenance of all purchase orders.
- Manages supplier bidding process with creation of RFQs submission to suppliers and summary returned information as requested.
- Controls Suppliers compliance to on time delivery, terms and conditions, supply contracts and product specifications.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction activities and other duties as assigned.
- Drive sourcing solutions for existing products as directed by executive management.
- Responsible for communication flow between suppliers and A/P to insure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
- Manage supplier quality issues including return material authorization, cause and corrective action documentation and supplier credits.
- Achieve cost saving projects on time and to budget.
- Manage parameters in the planning system to ensure accurate purchasing resulting actions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Supply Chain or related business field. MBA a plus.
Experience: 5 Years of experience in Purchasing, medium-volume manufacturing industry experience. Contractor Management experience (preferred).
Computer Skills: Excellent in Microsoft Excel. ERP systems experience with PRMS, LX, Oracle, SAP or similar preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: CPSM or CPIM Preferred
Hearing Requirements: Hear in normal audio range with or without correction and ability to wear hearing protection constantly while in the manufacturing area.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment is a light industrial environment requiring steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection. This environment includes forklift traffic and the moving of heavy parts. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. The employee may be exposed to a variety of temperatures due to seasonal conditions.
